Despite mixed reviews, Homefront still went on to be a huge commercial success for THQ and they've now gone on record as saying that they think the next installment into the Homefront franchise will be fantastic.
When asked about the possibility of a Homefront 2, Simon Watts, the global communications manager at THQ said: "I think it's very likely. We've got a great franchise, a great IP in Homefront.
"There were a few niggles and a few technical issues when it came out, but it's stuff that we're going to fix. By the time the next Homefront comes out, it will be fantastic."
Watts also went on to talk about how they're striving to be the main player in the first-person shooter genre, but they don't expect instant results.
"We don't want to be a 'me too' title, we want to be right up there. When people look at the genre we want them to talk about our game, not just Call of Duty, with us classified as a pretender. In the long run that's the plan - it's not something you can aspire to do straight out of the box."
There's been no official confirmation of Homefront 2, but from the sounds of things, it's pretty much a given. Who knows when it will hit though.
