Sony has officially announced that a new version of the PS3 slim will go on sale in Japan between now and the end of the month. It will have the model number CECH-3000B.
The new model will feature a lower weight (2.6kg), a 320 gigabyte hard disc and will also have a lower power consumption (200 watts). The good news though, is that it will retail for the same price as the existing console.
A similar model, CECH-3000, will feature in the Tales of Xillia X Edition hardware bundle. The only difference being that the hard disc is only 160 gigabytes. That bundle will release on the 8th of September.
