For the legion of gamers that still play Gamecube games on the Wii, Nintendo issued some bad news with regards to similar support for the Wii U.

In an interview with Mark Franklin, the head of Nintendo's public relations division, he confirmed that there will be no Gamecube support for the Wii U.

Recently Nintendo stopped production on the DS Lite, which was the last console to support Gameboy Advance cartridges. The Nintendo 3DS is only backwards compatible with the Nintendo DS.
