Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima recently spoke with PlayStation.Blog about the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. When asked if he believes there's still a market for games like Snatcher, especially with the success of games like L.A. Noire and the hype surrounding cyberpunk RPG Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Kojima said that he "would love to do something like Snatcher."

Unfortunately, Kojima admits that while he'd love to do it, he lacks the time and means to do so at this point. He does add that if "anyone else would like to develop it," he would love it.

"L.A. Noire is a game that I really like, but unfortunately I have not played it. I think it is coming out in Japan today, so when I return, I intend to play it," said Kojima. "This idea of "‹"‹an open world in 3D is very good, and I would love to do something like Snatcher, but I do not have the time or the means to do so. But if anyone else would like to develop it, I would love it."

Kojima has since announced "Sdatcher," a radio drama based on Snatcher and done in collaboration with notable devs like Suda 51 and Akira Yamaoka.
