A redesign for the PlayStation Network may be in the works, according to a report from Register, which claims that Sony's busy putting a knife and some proverbial silicon to the network's face, making it less text-heavy and more "image-driven."
The revamped PSN is said to be along the lines of Steam and Xbox Live, using less listed menus and more intuitive design choices. The film section of PSN has also been affected, now reflecting a database style system where clicking on a film will have important details such as featured actors and directors appear.
The same is done with games, but instead of directors and actors, details will include genre, developers, publishers, and the like. A "Deals of the Week" section is apparently being considered as well, making sorting through sales and bargains easier.
