Xbox and LucasArts today unveiled the first custom Xbox 360 Slim and Kinect bundle at the 41st annual Comic-Con International. The console's theme is based on the droids that everyone was looking for, R2-D2 and C-3PO. Meanwhile, the Kinect's theme is.....white.
As you can see, the custom 360 Slim is stylised with the white and blue colouring of R2-D2 whilst the controller takes on a shiny gold metallic finish with added wiring just as C-3PO does in almost all of the Star Wars films. The bundle is due for release alongside the muchly anticipated (and scepticised) Kinect Star Wars this holiday season. Fans with itchy trigger fingers might want to shoot first in regards to pre-ordering the bundle now from selective retailers before Greedo gets the chance to, (I'm working on my Star Wars references, I am so very sorry).
The bundle is currently priced at $449.99 and will include the following:
- Kinect Star Wars game
- Custom R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 Console with custom sounds
- White Kinect Sensor
- Custom C-3PO-themed Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
- 320 GB Hard Drive
- Xbox 360 Wired Headset
- Kinect Adventures game
- Exclusive downloadable content
One further announcement during the presentation revealed that Kinect Star Wars will also feature a new Podracing mode. This mode gives players the chance to compete against the surviving racers of the Boonta Eve race seen in Episode 1. It is probably safe to assume this will be reminiscent to the Podracing game released on the N64 back in the day only now holding the thumbstick up to move forward isn't a problem anymore.
