Final Fantasy Versus XIII will not be shown at this year's Tokyo Game Show, revealed director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation.
In celebration of the magazine's 500th issue, Nomura illustrated a cover art featuring characters from upcoming Final Fantasies, including Noctis of elusive Versus XIII fame; Lightning, Serah and Noel of Final Fantasy XIII-2; and Rem and Machina from portable epic Type-0.
There was also a big feature where Nomura confirmed that Versus XIII would not have a presence at the Japanese game fair, but did mention Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy as the first of Square Enix's entries in their 25th anniversary portfolio, as well as a nod towards Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, although his comment on the 3DS title was apparently as obscure as Kingdom Hearts can get.
Despite a no-show at TGS 2011, the next unveil of Versus XIII media has already been set. Only time will tell when that will be - possibly Jump Festa or Square Enix's own event early on in the year.
