Amongst the opinions on Ubisoft's recent announcement regarding DRM, creator of Minecraft, Marcus 'Notch' Persson's recent tweets have been most eye-catching.

Notch's tweets against the company started with "Protip: if you pirate Ubisoft games instead of buying them, they will work fine if your internet connection goes down." He also claimed that not only are Ubisoft's demands insane, but that they are actually encourage piracy opposed to Ubisoft's original intent.

Ubisoft's policy makes it so players have to log on to the internet each time they boot up the game. Thus far, only two of Ubisoft's PC games, Driver: San Francisco and From Dust, have been affected by the change and the publisher has since claimed that the policy has granted them a noticable reduction in piracy.
