Thanks to the price cut announced earlier yesterday at Sony's Gamescom presser, marking the PS3 at only $249, sales on Amazon have jumped up a whopping 400 percent. This only in the last 24 hours. Looks like Sony might have a good holiday season this year.
According to numbers from IndustryGamers, the 320GB bundle with PlayStation Move was up 450 percent, while the 160GB bundle is up 366 percent. The new 320GB inFamous 2 bundle is also at the top of Amazon's Movers and Shakers page.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter expects immediate results from the unexpected price cut, believing that overall hardware sales will certainly jump as a result: "Sales will definitely go up, probably by 20 - 30% per month compared to last year," he said. "If Xbox 360 sales suffer at all, I think they will follow suit."
