Sony announced a $50 price cut for the PS3 effective immediately after their press conference at gamescom and while retailers were enjoying the increase in hardware sales, it looks like third party developers are also rather excited about the announcement according to SCEA Senior Vice President of PR Rob Dyer.
"I was in Cologne at Gamescom when [Sony] made the announcement about the price cut being effective worldwide immediately, and I was there with a lot of third parties, sitting right next to EA at that moment, and everyone is pretty pumped up," Dyer said to IndustryGamers.
"We're getting the type of response from re-orders on catalogue product that we want to see given that kind of markdown. Needless to say, when you have a $50 price drop, good things are going to happen," he added. "We're seeing a follow through almost immediately, and in my world with regards to third-party it's all good."
