The iconic Tomb Raider franchise was first kicked off in October 1996 by creator Toby Gard and Core Design, since then Lara Croft has become one of the most iconic video game characters, spawning not just games, but comics and films.
In celebration of Lara's 15 year anniversary, Crystal Dynamics will be "playing curator," commissioning eight original works of art from a selection of artists for a unique digital art exhibition with the purpose of showcasing the new vision of Tomb Raider.
The exhibition begins today with a piece from the original Tomb Raider comic artist Andy Park. The exhibition will end with a piece from Tomb Raider creator Toby Gard himself. All art pieces can be viewed over at the Tomb Raider gallery page in co-operation with Hiptic.com.
"This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate TOMB RAIDER's history by looking at Lara's promising future," said Crystal Dynamics Global Brand Director Karl Stewart. "We can't wait to share each artist's unique interpretation of what it means to be Lara Croft."
In addition to the works of art, there will be a signing at the New York Comic Con on October 14. On top of that, T-shirts and posters will be available for purchase at TheNerdMachine.com, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Child's Play Charity.
