The multiplayer of Uncharted 3 will open up to PlayStation Plus subscribers on October 5, nearly one whole month before the game is generally released. Confirmed on Monday, the multiplayer will reportedly open up across the world on Wednesday.
"I'm really happy to announce that PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe, South Africa, The Middle East, Australia and New Zealand will get a chance to play Uncharted 3"˜s competitive multiplayer experience before the full game releases on November 2," wrote SCEE European Product Manager, Phil Lynch.
Sony went on to promise that non-PlayStation Plus subscribers would also be offered a number of chances to try-out the game's multiplayer early. The company didn't offer any specifics on how non-plus subscribers could do this past a nebulous instruction to, "keep an eye on your local PlayStation.Blog page or community forums for more details."
Uncharted 3 is set for release on November 2. Naughty Dog has since clarified that experience accrued by players in the pre-release multiplayer will carry over to their character in the final retail copy of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
