There are currently four different Call of Duty: Black Ops map packs on the market and so far Activision has sold a combined total of 20 million copies.
This means Black Ops has brought in over £200 million just on Map Packs alone making it one of the most successful revenue generating games of 2011 despite being released in November 2010. When combined with retail sales, Black Ops was the number-one title in both the US and Europe for the first nine months of 2011.
"This is pretty incredible given that these titles are 12 and 24 months old, respectively, and are still ranked ahead of several much hyped titles launched this year," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 just released this week, so perhaps we will be seeing more remarkable sales figures coming from Activision in the next months.
