At its pre-G-Star press conference, South Korean MMO publisher NCsoft unveiled Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance, a new action MMORPG and the third title in its 13-year-old, client-based Lineage franchise.
The news follows just a week after the company announced that Lineage II, which launched in 2003, will switch from a tiered subscription model to free-to-play later this year with the release of the Goddess of Destruction expansion.
According to ThisIsGame, NCsoft showed off three classes from the new MMORPG "“ Warrior, Mage and Elemental Archer "“ and demonstrated a new "drag and hold" combat system allowing players to hit enemies in a pattern drawn with their mouse.
Lineage Eternal will also feature the same large-scale battles and siege warfare the series is known for, along with a "Smart View" option designed to adjust the Diablo-style isometric perspective to better show players' characters during these clashes. The publisher did not announce a release date or business model for the game, but it intends to show off a new trailer in the next couple of days and will begin beta-testing sometime in early 2012.
