New reports have emerged suggesting Sony's forthcoming PlayStation Vita handheld will be able to stream games directly from the PS3.
According to Eurogamer, Sony's new handheld will be able to play PS3 games on the Vita. Eurogamer reported that when streamed from the PS3, the Vita will downgrade the game's pixel resolution to 480x272 pixels -- the same as the current PSP -- to ensure there's no lag in the streaming process. The PSP itself is reported as being capable of 960x544 pixel resolutions.
Though Sony hasn't confirmed Eurogamer's bold claim, the company has already shown the Vita streaming games. Known as Vita Remote Play, the service showed Killzone 3 being streamed to the handheld. Yet despite the demo, it was originally thought that the service would be limited
to select PS3 titles.
The Vita is set to land in UK shores February 2012 carrying £229.99 price tag for the Wi-Fi only version and a hefty £279.99 for the 3G enabled model.
