Ubisoft has just announced the purchase of indie developer RedLynx who shot to fame following the release of Trials HD and more recently, their games on the WiiWare platform.
The move allows RedLynx to strengthen its online expertise and afford to distribute games to a wider audience. Ubisoft mentioned that it was RedLynx's expertise in online gaming and physics-based game mechanics that sealed the deal.
"We were attracted by Ubisoft's focus on creativity and quality, and the fact that they base their long-term strategy on both the traditional and digital distribution video game markets," RedLynx CEO Tero Virtala said of the move.
