Niche JRPG game publisher NIS America recently revealed that Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 would be hitting Western shores early next year. The game, developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart, introduces some changes since the first game, including a revised battle and event system, which you can see in the screenshots below.

Unlike the first game, random encounters are no more, replaced with monsters that roam the map. The battle system features mechanics that are more direct and strategic as well, with players able to control character movement during battle. Illustrated event scenes are gone too, with events featuring 3D character models taking up its stead.

Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 is out February 2012 on the PS3. Enjoy the screenshots.
