IO Interactive To Work On New IP After Hitman: Absolution

Following the release of Hitman: Absolution, IO Interactive has announced that a part of the development team will work on another Hitman title with Square Enix Montreal while the other will start work on a new IP.

Studio head Niels Sorensen talked a bit about the developer's direction in an interview with Gamasutra. Sorensen believes that by working on the same IPs for too long, it will cause creative drain.

"Thankfully we managed to make sure we keep focusing on different IPs and keeping people fresh," said Sorensen."We've built an incubation department whose focus is work on new IP and prototypes, and all sorts of things for existing and new IP."

As of right now, there's next to no information on this new IP, so hopefully once Absolution is released, IO Interactive will open up a bit more about this new project.
