In an interview with the Japanese website 4Gamer, Level-5 President Akihiro Hino said that there are various possibilities for developing his game studio's Ni no Kuni franchise, although nothing has been decided yet.
When asked if those possibilities include more packaged title releases (as opposed to downloadable content or online store releases), Hino added, "Yes, that's right. Those, too, of course." 4Gamer then asked if Level-5 is aiming to continue and expand the world that it created already, or something entirely separate, and Hino responded that he think his company will do the former "” although he cannot say on the record.
Level-5 has already released two Ni no Kuni games with animation by Studio Ghibli: Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no MadÅshi for the Nintendo DS handheld system last December, and Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no JoÅ for the PlayStation 3 console last month. Both games follow a boy who can travel from his home world to the world of "Ni no Kuni" via a magical book.
An English release of Ni no Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch for PS3 is planned for early 2012.
