Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has revealed that they've shipped more than 6 million copies of Batman: Arkham City to video game retailers around the world.
This makes Arkham City an incredible success as a stand-alone product, but also as a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, which released back in 2009. It has also helped Warner Bros.' "Filmed Entertainment" division to post some bumper profits.
According to the report, the division made $12.6 billion in revenue throughout 2011, a marked increase over their 2010 performance of $11.6 billion. Operating income was also up from $1.1 billion to $1.3 billion in 2011.
Arkham Asylum was released in 2011 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with Gaming Union giving the game a score of 9/10.
