An analyst from Baird has gone on record as stating that he believes Grand Theft Auto V will be releasing in 2013, not 2012.
Colin Sebastian was responding to claims from Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter, who claimed that the delay of BioShock Infinite would present the perfect opportunity for Grand Theft Auto V to steal the show towards the end of 2012.
However, Sebastian doesn't believe we will see Grand Theft Auto V until early 2013, stating that with games like Max Payne 3, Diablo 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4, there will be no need for Rockstar to release this year.
The first trailer for GTA V was released some time ago now, and we've heard very little from Rockstar Games since then. However, the stage is certainly set for them to bring the big guns to this year's E3, should they wish to.
It's a game that needs no introduction though and when Rockstar decide to pin it down to a release date, you can be sure every other publisher will have to re-think the release windows for their own games.
