We've all seen the leaks, but it's official now. Sony has confirmed that both Uncharted's Nathan Drake and BioShock's Mr. Bubbles (aka Big Daddy) will be available as playable characters for the group's upcoming franchise brawler, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
The announcement came tonight at Sony's E3 press conference, where the company showed off some live gameplay with Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, Kratos, and Sly duking it out.
While it looked just like its source of inspiration, Super Smash Bros., it also looked like it played somewhat differently, with players having the objective of fighting over a form of energy to gain Super attacks that can be used to turn the tide of battle. These Supers also have levels, with each being progressively more powerful. It's basically a tug-of-war for this energy.
Sony also confirmed that PlayStation All-Stars will feature Cross Play between the PS3 and PlayStation Vita. The on-stage demo itself had two users playing with the DualShock 3 while another two fought with PS Vitas.
PlayStation All-Stars is scheduled for release this holiday season.
