After titles getting canceled and unwanted iOS games releasing, Mega Man seems to finally be getting a game worthy of his 25th anniversary for free. Street Fighter X Mega Man will be a PC downloadable title and releases December 17th. You will be able to download this directly from Capcom's Mega Man brand page.

This will be an all new 8-bit game much like Mega Man 9 and 10. The main addition this time is instead of robot masters there are characters from the Street Fighter franchise. The two mega series team up as they both share a 25th anniversary this year.

This project started as a collaboration between Capcom and Seow Zong Hui from Singapore. Hui had a build of the game at EVO 2012 and since then has been on track to have a mass release. Along with an 8-bit soundtrack by A_Rival that blends the two series together in song. Check out the reveal trailer below to get a taste of what the game will look like.

By the skin of their teeth Capcom finally released a game that Mega Man fans can be proud about for the blue bombers 25th birthday. What do you think of this latest entry for Mega Man? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
