As of February 16, Nintendo will be combining their handheld and console divisions together into a single unit with the task of creating hardware for the next generation of gaming.

This merger will result in a new unit, which will consist of 280 engineers (150 from the handheld division and 130 console employees). In order to properly facilitate this new team, they will be moving into a new $340 million facility located in Kyoto.

This will be the biggest restructuring the company has undergone in just under a decade.
