A source reported to Edge Online this week many new pieces of information regarding the next Xbox. Some of the biggest highlights were the fact that you would always need to be online to play any game. Games will also ship with no only a disc, but an activation code, making that copy only work on your system.
Game Discs will be manufactured using 50GB Blu-ray disc, similar to what Sony uses now with the PS3. It would be a bold move on Microsoft's part to completely shut out the used games market with this strategy. This would affect a large amount of Gamestop's used games sales as well as Wal-Mart and Best Buy in North America to name a few.
The Edge article also game more specific information regarding system specs and even a new Kinect. Are you the kind of person who plays a lot of used games and how would you feel if this rumor ends up becoming true? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
