Before even releasing the OUYA, CEO Julie Uhrman has announced that "There will be an OUYA 2 and OUYA 3" and that "all games are backwards compatible [ for each OUYA iteration ]".
This is part of the company's plan to take advantage of hardware that is constantly changing in size, quality, and price just as companies have done with smart phones. Further discussing backwards compatibility, all games will be connected to the user's online account easily allowing game transfers from one OUYA to the next.
After announcing the plans for OUYA 2 and OUYA 3, it was revealed that OUYA has joined in a partnership with Double Fine Productions and Paul Bettner, the creator of Words With Friends.
The Cave and Reds will be brought over to OUYA by Double Fine while Bettner is sending over Words With Friends and two unannounced titles. Neither Double Fine or Bettner have given release dates, but with OUYA's retail release is in June there may be more news to come soon.
The OUYA seems to be a busy bee this year. Will you be picking up an OUYA or does it need more to satisfy your gaming needs?
