Sony Computer Entertainment of America is informed fans that they will be ceasing the connection of the White Knight Chronicles servers in North America. The service will no longer be available on June 18. D3Publisher, the company responsible for bringing White Knight Chronicles II to North America, stated on the Facebook page for the game that the sequel will go offline on June 18 as well.
White Knight Chronicles was released in North America in February of 2010, and the sequel White Knight Chronicles II came overseas in September of the following year. They were originally released in Japan in 2008 and 2010 respectively. Both games have a single player story to play through, but the MMORPG-lite online mode is a key part of the series.
The reason for this change have not been specified by both Sony Computer Entertainment and D3Publisher, but it must be a move they needed to make before PS4 launches.
