One of the coolest new features on the PlayStation 4 is the fact that you can start playing a game as soon as you start downloading. While this seems like an amazing leap forward in digital gaming, Sony's upcoming PS3 exclusive The Last of Us will have something similar to this feature on the PS3.
Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckmann spoke to Game Informer about people picking up the game digitally not having to wait until the whole game is downloaded. The game will now be playable after downloading it 50% and while this is not on the same level of what the PS4 will have, it is great to see the PS3 testing some of these features out.
There is no word on if this will only work for The Last of Us, but here is hoping a new firmware making this work for all downloaded games is coming soon. The Last of Us releases worldwide June 14, 2013 only on the PS3. Does this entice you into getting the digital copy of The Last of Us over the disc? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
