Following the leak of Gran Turismo 6's box art a few weeks ago, it's now believed that Polyphony Digital's next project will be fully announced on the 15th of May - next week.
The rumour stems from an invitation that was sent out to selected media to attend a Gran Turismo anniversary event at Silverstone. It's to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the franchise.
Since then, Sony has released a trailer for the event, which showcases some of the classic action we've seen throughout the years. It also runs through the different numbered titles, and stops when it should come to the 6th installment (trailer below).
We've known that Gran Turismo 6 has been in development for a while after Polyphony's boss Kazunori Yamauchi spoke about it way back in 2010. At that time, Gran Turismo 5 hadn't even been released yet. Gran Turismo 5 went on to become another hit for the franchise. As of September 2012, Sony had shipped 9.19 million copies of the game worldwide.
Check out the anniversary trailer below and be sure to visit the site next week to learn more about this as it develops.
