During Ubisoft's E3 2013 conference yesterday, they announced a new game from the fabled Tom Clany franchise called Tom Clancy's The Division.
Described as a tactical shooter, but also with action RPG elements, The Division is being developed by Ubisoft Massive, who recently hired the entire staff of Southend Interactive (responsible for ilomilo and Sacred Citadel).
The Division is said to be inspired by the real-life events of Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51. It follows the collapse of the United States in 5 days following a disease that spreads on Black Friday.
Throughout the gameplay demonstration, the team-based nature of the game was showcased. However, the game also showed off the PvP elements that could make things rather interesting. While you're exploring the world, other people will be doing the same and you'll be competing against them.
