PS4 And Xbox One Will 'Wake Up' To Download And Install New Content

Due to the advances in technology, the way we purchase games is something that has expanded greatly in recent years, buying physical copies online, download games, or digital stores, we have many options these days. With this in mind, both Sony and Microsoft decided to add a new feature to their next-gen consoles, one that will make downloading content a convenient task.

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony's executive, revealed that when you buy content via web or PS Vita, your PS4 will wake up to download and install the purchased content while you are away from your console. Once the process is complete the PS4 will go back to sleep.

Following this announcement, Marc Whitten, Microsoft's executive, confirmed that the Xbox One will be able to do the same. "Yes! Of course you can download while you are away. xboxone - Always up to date, always your console. The beauty of low power mode!" said Whitten.

The PS4 will be released on the 15th of November in North America, arriving at Europe two weeks later, on the 29th of November. The Xbox One will be released in November in 13 countries, arriving in 2014 on the rest of the world.
