Take Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has announced that Grand Theft Auto V has generated more than $1bn of revenue within its first three days at retail.
Although it's only based on internal estimates for now, this is a remarkable feat. The previous record was set by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year, which managed to generate $1bn after 15 days on sale.
Of the news, Strauss Zelnick who's the Chairman and CEO of Take-Two said ""We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto V."
Grand Theft Auto V released on the 17th of September on the PS3 and Xbox 360. At present, Rockstar Games hasn't announced any concrete plans to have the game released on either the PS4, the Xbox One or the PC.
