Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is due to enter into its beta phase on the PS4 at the start of 2014 and Square Enix has now detailed how the game will compare to the PC version.
Square Enix's Naoki Yoshida stated that the PS4 version of the game will have the same visual appearance as the PC's current highest setting. That means it will run at 1080p and at 60fps. The PS3 version currently runs at 720p and has a maximum of 30fps.
Yoshida also mentioned that a DirectX 11 version for the PC is in development and that Final Fantasy XIV on PS4 will also make use of some DirectX 11 features.
In other news related to this, Square Enix declared that anyone who owns the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version for free. However, once they go through the change their PS3 version will deactivate.
