In an interview with Kotaku, Takashi Tokita confirmed that Final Fantasy VI will be heading to the iOS and Android market this winter. Tokita also made sure to mention that there would be several changes to this particular version of FF6 to make it more enjoyable on touch screen devices.
One of the changes being brought to FF6 will be that players will spend less time grinding. This means that leveling up will occur more often and players can proceed to the next story segments more quickly. Tokita also mentioned that the graphics for the cell phone versions will be more sharpened much like they were in the more recent port of Final Fantasy V.
Takashi Tokita was also asked if any of the later Final Fantasy games would be brought over to iOS and Android such as Final Fantasy VII. Though he not give a definite answer, Tokia responded to the question saying, "If this Legacy project works out well, we would like to one day be able to work with VII."
Fans of the Final Fantasy series can look forward to both Final Fantasy IV: The Years After and Final Fantasy VI releasing on the iOS and Android market before the end of the year.
