Square Enix has once again added another title to its app family. Out now on both iOS and Android devices is the sequel to Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.
As its title suggests, The After Years take place over a decade after the conclusion to Final Fantasy IV. The story takes places in a ten episode format, none of which have to be purchased separately. The sequel stars the child of Cecil and Rosa, Ceodore. The original cast of Final Fantasy IV also make a return such as Rydia and Kain.
Gameplay remains mostly the same as a turn-based JRPG, but it does include character abilities called Age of Moon and Band.
New to this edition of The After Years is a complete revamp of the graphics. The visuals have been changed into 3D polygons to better match the mobile version of Final Fantasy IV which was originally ported from the Nintendo DS. Those who have already purchased and installed Final Fantasy IV on the same device will also be treated to a secret bonus for The After Years.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years can be purchased for $15.99 on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
