Ever since voice acting was added to the Final Fantasy franchise, many fans have wanted Square Enix to include the original japanese dub when their western releases. Square-Enix has finally heard its fans, and it has announced that the Japanese dub for Lightning Returns will be available as DLC in the West.
This Japanese voice-over pack will be available for free, but only during the first 2 weeks after the game's release. After this period, players will need to pay in order to access this DLC, although no details about its price were revealed. The Japanese voice-over pack will also include lip-synching that differs from the English-language voice track in order to deliver a more more natural and localized game experience.
This will be the first time in the series that players will have the oportunity to enjoy both Japanese and English voices in a Final Fantasy title. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available on the 11th of February in North America, and on the 14th of February in Europe.
