Sony Invites UK Retailers To Sell PSN Games

All UK retailers are invited by Sony to sell PlayStation Network games, said Fergal Gara, Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment UK, to MCV. At the moment, Sony already allows retailer Game to sell PSN cards for specific titles, and hopes that other retailers will do the same in the future.

"We've been saying all year that we want retail support for our digital business, we want them to play a part in it to take a slice of it," said Gara. "So we've got GAME, and then the independent move "“ which takes us into the rest of the specialist sectors, but our ambitions are broader than that and there are tools for every retailer to take part in that digital business. Not everybody can do that overnight "“ it is a discussion we have on a regular basis to bring more retailers with us. It's a work in progress."

Although Gara's statement applies for the UK market, it also suggests Sony is planing to it extend to other markets around the world.
