Today during the Nintendo Direct stream, Satoru Iwata revealed a brand new title for the Wii U console called Hyrule Warriors. While the title still pending, Hyrule Warriors is a collaborative effort between Nintendo and Tecmo Koei.
Being from the studio that brought titles such as Warriors Orochi, Hyrule Warriors has a similar look and feel. However this title is set in Hyrule and features the green tunic hero Link. Iwata was quick to point out that this was not a true installment of the Legend of Zelda franchise.
The short trailer featured Link surrounded by hordes of iconic enemies and bosses from the Ocarina of Time world as well as many classic weapons at his disposal. Bomb throws, bows, swords, and even a large blast from a magical staff.
While no solid date was given, Iwata announced that Hyrule Warriors would be available sometime in 2014. Let us know in the comments below what you're thoughts are on this new take of the Zelda franchise.
