Driveclub will no longer be launching alongside the PS4 in Japan, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has confirmed.
This news can be considered another setback for the racing game, as it was previously pushed back from being a launch title for the PS4 in North America and Europe. At that time, no alternative release date for Driveclub was offered up. Instead, Sony stated that the game would be ready to release "Early 2014".
Driveclub is the latest game from Evolution Studios, who have previously worked on the MotorStorm franchise, as well as the WRC series. Upon its announcement, it was said to be positioned as an on-road racing title that's being developed to compete with the like of GRiD, not Gran Turismo and Forza.
Despite the delay to Driveclub, the PS4 will have a strong line-up in Japan. Alongside many of the games already released in North America and Europe, Japanese gamers will be able to experience titles such as Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition and Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! - the next installment into the famed Yakuza franchise.
The PS4 will launch in Japan on the 22nd of February, 2014.
