Nintendo has announced that they have managed to sell more than 11.5 million Nintendo 3DS consoles in the US since it released in 2011.
These sales figures have been bolstered by sales of the Nintendo 3DS XL and the Nintendo 2DS, which released towards the end of 2013 and removes the 3DS functionality.
Alongside these numbers, Nintendo also revealed that over 16 million retail and digital 3DS games were sold on the platform, which represents a 45 percent increase on the previous year.
"We're not slowing down in 2014," said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. "With more games featuring fan-favorite franchises on the way, the best days of Nintendo 3DS are still to come."
