Bayonetta 2, one of the Wii U's most waited exclusives, received a new trailer during the latest Nintendo Direct. This new trailer revealed more details regarding the story and gameplay of the title.
The trailer starts off by introducing to the story of the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages, two clans that struggled between each other over 500 years before the events of the game. Although the Lumen Sages were supposed to be extinct, the trailer teases that this might not be true, as it shows Bayonetta fighting against one of them. Several characters from the previous game will make a return for the sequel, including Robin, Jeanne, and Luka.
Bayonetta will have lots of new abilities including the Umbran Climax ability, which lets her unleash all of her magic power in one massive attack. Bayonetta will not be the only playable character, as the trailer reveals that an adolescent boy, which will play a crucial role in Bayonetta's quest, will also be playable.
Bayonetta 2 will be released this Summer in Japan. A release date for North America and Europe has yet to be revealed.
