The well-beloved franchise, Rollercoaster Tycoon, will soon have a new entry coming to both mobile platforms and the PC. However, details concerning its release and payment methods may turn off some long-time fans of the series.
The first comes from its planned release. Slated to be released later this year, the mobile version of Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 will be out before its PC counterpart. Neither versions of the game have a specific release date other than "later this year" so it's not clear how long the PC edition will take to hit store shelves. And while the mobile version of the game is not explicitly Free-To-Play, Atari is adopting some of its mechanics such as paying a fee to speed up an energy bar to gain access to new attractions. Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 on the PC is described by Atari as a "completely different experience" from the mobile version, but the only detail they gave was that it is an "online multiplayer experience."
Until more concrete details are released concerning the game, fans will have to hope and pray the Rollercoaster Tycoon does not become another Sim City or Final Fantasy: All The Bravest.
