Bethesda has revealed that the Doom Beta will be available only for PS4, Xbox One and PC. In order to get access to the beta, players will need to pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order, which will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
To get access to the Beta, players will need a key code that will be include in boxed copy of the Wolfenstein, with players that pre-order the PS3 version getting access to the PS4 Beta, while those that pre-order the Xbox 360 version will get access to the Xbox One Beta. Regarding digital pre-orders, Bethesda has already confirmed that it is currently working with Sony, Microsoft, and Steam, to make sure that everyone that pre-orders the game gets access to the Doom Beta.
In addition, Xbox One players will need an Xbox Live Gold membership in order to play the Doom Beta, while PS4 gamers won't need a PlayStation Plus membership to get access to the PS4 Beta. When asked if there will be an open beta in the future, Bethesda said "Timing and availability of future beta programs for Doom is to be determined. The only current way to ensure an invitation is through pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order. We will be providing more information on additional beta tests, if any, at a later time."
Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available on the 20th of May in North America, and on the 23rd of May in Europe. A release date for Doom has yet to be revealed.
