With just one month away from the release of Watch Dogs, Ubisoft has decided to release a trailer focusing on the title's multiplayer. The multiplayer trailer shows three different modes, one that's basically a "hide-and-seek" mode, a challenge mode, and 4 vs 4 objective matches.
As explained in the trailer, Watch Dogs' multiplayer takes place in the same world that the single player does, with players being able to connect with each other through hacking. While playing in single player, players will the option to accept contracts and hack other players. When a player is hacked the players is notified immeadiately, and in order to stop the attack the invader must be identified. However, this isn't as simple as it looks since every player that joins your game will look like a regular NPC.
The multiplayer component will also allow other players to challenge you to reach a designated checkpoint. While you make you way to the checkpoint, the challenger will be able to use anything that is hackable in order to stop your progress.
The game will also feature a "more competitive" multiplayer, with a 4 vs 4 matches, in which players will need to complete a specific objective. The main feature of this mode is that by using their hacking skill, players will able to create cover and distractions that will be essential for victory.
Watch Dogs will be available worldwide on the 27th of May for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. The Wii U version of the title has been delayed and it will be released later this year.
