The internet nearly imploded when Nintendo first announced the appearance of Mega Man in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. In their most recent Nintendo Direct, more details were revealed on the Blue Bomber including a very special stage staring the Yellow Devil.
The first set of details concerned Mega Man's move set. While most of his exhibited moves are the same from his first appearance, there was one in particular that is sure to please fans of the series. For his Final Smash, Mega Man summons all of his incarnation from Mega Man X to Mega Man Star Force to launch a simultaneous charge blast at his enemies.
As for the new stage, which appears to be a Wii U exclusive, it's not only a nod to one of the more popular Mega Man titles, but also one of the most interactive stages of Super Smash Bros. With a background drop of Wiley's Castle from Mega Man 2, players are placed on a flat platform where the Yellow Devil attacks players by splitting into globs that traverse from one side of the platform to the other. Just like in the original game, the Yellow Devil is weak in his eye and can be destroyed. Who ever delivers the killing blow will set off a large explosion that can envelope and damage his opponents. Masahiro Sakarai made mention that the stage offers a variety of tactics such as focusing on the Yellow Devil or on the other players targeting the Yellow Devil.
With the inclusion of the Yellow Devil and every variation of the Blue Bomber, it's probably safe to assume that Nintendo has won over every Mega Man fan both old and new.
