Nintendo Trademarks New Game Titled S.T.E.A.M.

It's a common complaint to hear that Nintendo lacks both in third-party content and original IPs, but a newly discovered trademark could symbolize a change in direction for Nintendo. The name of this new "game" is Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace.

The name of the title suggests that it may be a shooter or tactical game of some sort pitting humans against (you guessed it) aliens, but details are very scarce. In fact, there is nothing that suggests which console this game will release on or if it is even a game to begin with. Whether game or app, gamers will have to wait a little longer until Nintendo is good and ready to announce Code: S.T.E.A.M. to the gaming world.

What are your thoughts on the recent trademark? Could this be the beginning of a line of fresh IPs for Nintendo or just a desperate attempt to put new content on the Nintendo Wii U? Let us know you opinions in the comments below.
