On Ubisoft's Facts and Figures section of their website, the top fifteen selling franchises of the company were revealed. While it may not come as a surprise that Assassin's Creed was number one, its total units sold: 73 million.
Originally released in 2007, Assassin's Creed quickly rose in popularity. As the series grew, so did the number of game systems it appeared on. Not limited to PC and consoles, the Assassin's Creed franchise has even made appearances on the Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and PlayStation Vita.
The remaining fourteen best selling games ranged from three million units to 48 million. The 48 million number belongs to the Just Dance franchise, which has also grown quickly in popularity. A surprising franchise to see was Petz, which has sold 24 million and has out performed both Far Cry and Prince of Persia.
Founded in 1986, Ubisoft has become a gaming force to be reckoned with and a household name amongst gamers everywhere. Promising two more Assassin's Creed games this year, the gaming giant obviously shows no signs of stopping.
