Following the recent image released by Electronic Arts, teasing that Plants vs. Zombies: Modern Warfare was coming to PlayStation platforms, Popcap Games and EA have officially announced today that the title will be released for PS3 and PS4. In addition, it has also been confirmed that cross-play will be supported, allowing players to play on the PS Vita.
"Our players have already vanquished more than 400 million plants and zombies, and we can't wait for PlayStation gamers to add to this total. They'll see how accessible, yet deep, the gameplay is, and will get endless hours of fun out of the game," said Brian Lindley, producer on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.
Just like on the Xbox platforms, the PlayStation versions of the title will feature two 12 vs 12 competitive modes, Garden & Graveyards and Team Vanquish, and a 4-player cooperative mode, Garden Ops. The PS4 version will also include split-screen gameplay and Boss Mode. Regarding the game's resolution, it has been confirmed that the PS4 version will run at at 1080p and 60fps.
Plants vs. Zombies will be released for PS3 and PS4 on the 19th of August in North America, and on the 22nd of August in Europe. Those that pre-order the title will receive two digital card packs and PlayStation exclusive customization items, including Hat Packs from Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess.
