According to Microsoft's online store, the Kinect for Windows V2 will be available in both Europe and North America next week, on the 15th of July.

This standalone release of Kinect for PC will feature a design similar to the Kinect for Xbox One, but will also include a few improvements over the latter. A few of these improvements include an HD color camera, a microphone array that can isolate ambiental noise, expanded field of view, and new infrared. The Kinect will be released without software, which must be licensed separately.

"The Kinect for Windows v2 sensor gives developers more of the precision, responsiveness, and intuitive capabilities they need to develop interactive voice- and gesture-based applications for the Windows desktop and Windows Store. The v2 sensor is intended for use with the Kinect for Windows software development kit (SDK) 2.0," said Microsoft.

Kinect for Windows V2 is already available for pre-order and it's currently priced at £159/$199.
