The speedrun record for Super Mario Bros. on the NES has been broken by less than one second. Going by the name "Bubbler," this gamer has set the new speedrun time from four minutes and 58.09 seconds to four minutes and 57.69 seconds.
Bubbler chose to use an emulator instead of an actual NES to break the speedrun record, but no cheats were used in the game. The emulated version of Super Mario Bros. also retained the same glitches and bugs from the original version of the game such as mid-air jumps, the walljump, and the alternate pipe glitches.
